An available hairstylist chair at Birds of a Feather Salon

We’re a booth rent salon because we support beauty professionals who are independent yet still want a community that is supportive.

  • Full-time booth rent or treatment room rent is $950/month.

Part-time booth rent or treatment room rent is $500/month for up to three days a week.

All lease agreements are for one year, and all rates increase 3% each year on August 1st.

Retail commission is given as a discount on monthly rent. There is no minimum required.

  • Please email a short resume and a few professional references to greenspaceslc@gmail.com. We will contact you to meet and give you a tour of the space.

  • All renters need:

A solid existing clientele and personal marketing skills

    Credit card processing

    License and insurance

    Hairstylists need:

Tools (shears, clips, combs, hair dryers, curling irons, etc.)

    Treatment room renters need:

    Tools and supplies

  • We have three treatment rooms on the lower level of the building. Two have sinks with hot and cold water, and the third is a dry room.

The rooms each come with a massage table, a shelving unit, and a rolling cart. Other decor and supplies can be provided if needed.

These rooms are the perfect spaces for facials, waxing, brow services like microblading, lash extensions, some types of bodywork, or even tattoos.

Because there is a salon upstairs and they are not sound proofed, the rooms may not be right for some massage, reiki, or other meditative spa services. We’d love to show you the rooms and see if they would work for you.

  • Sorry, we are not permitted or ventilated for nail services.

  • It can be difficult to start out at a booth rent salon with a limited client list. However, the complete answer is a calculation of number of clients + service pricing + frequency of visits - cost of doing business (consumable resources, rental, and credit card processing fees).

If you need to start out as a part-time renter, or share a booth with a friend in order to make it work, we are happy to consult with you to figure this out.

  • Things like tracking expenses, managing your own booking, and processing payments can be intimidating. We are happy to share with you how we manage the things we know, and connect you with the experts we trust for everything we don’t.
